Astorga

Astorga 與 拿破崙對西班牙的戰爭

  • 在巴黎凱旋門的頂部刻有 Astorga 這個名字，紀念那個歷史時刻。 對拿破崙一世的帝國而言，那是一次苦樂參半的勝利。
  • 1808年夏天，法國在拜倫戰敗後，拿破崙皇帝親自策劃了一場戰役，並控制了西班牙的領土
  • 拿破崙的軍隊他在1808年西曆除夕夜抵達Astorga ， 由於戰爭和傷寒疫情，這座城市人口減少了很多
  • 西班牙和英國軍隊最終向法國軍隊投降。 法國人允許西班牙和英國人撤退，這是一次可怕的撤退， 風雪、傷寒疫情肆虐，數百名戰敗士兵在逃往拉科魯尼亞時喪生，而 Astorga 被法國軍隊殘酷掠奪
  • 風雪和傷寒也打擊法國軍隊，還有來自奧地利的壞訊息，拿破崙終止了在西班牙的戰役，並於 1809年1月3日開始返回法國，準備另一場大戰
  • 然後拿破崙再也沒有回到西班牙
 
在市政廳背面牆上寫了這麼一段話： 拿破崙一世在 1801 年 1月1日到2日停留在 Astorga 的舊主教宮，他停止對西班牙和英國軍隊的追擊。拿破崙再也沒有回到西班牙。

  • 由高第設計的建築，興建於1889年到1913年
  • 原來的主教宮在19世紀毀於火災，拿破崙見過舊主教宮
  • 現在這建築裡有關於朝聖之路的博物館 Museo de los Caminos
